.ADAPTATIONS.

Red pandas have very thick fur on the soles of their paws. It is believed this is for thermal insulation. Another is the colouring of their fur and tails. The red and brown fur and ringed tail provide excellent camofloge against the lichen on the trees where they live.
The extra fur on their feet keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter and the camofloge increases their chances of catching prey.
A behavioral adaptation is that the red panda is usually active during dusk and dawn. The lighting at this time probably increases the red pandas camofloge.
